Hi Goburinbro!

I want to ask about something. I've collected 2 from 3 spell books and now I have to collect the 3rd one. I can't find it. I've searched it in the beach but I can't touch the three crystals. Maybe you can gave me some hint? Or maybe a walkthrough/guide? I would really appreciate it. Sorry for my broken english. Thanks.

Are you talking about the one inside the sandcastle itself? There's some metal bars you can interact with if you call Slime Lass, and that's how you'll find one of the books.

Thanks for the reply! I've finished it and  the 2nd one. Now I'm waiting for the 3rd sequel lol

I loved the story, thank you for making this!

Goburinbro i cant belive i found you in the void from glitching out from the entrance of the library

Ha-ha-ha...

By the looks of this I expected a boring, unfinished rpgm "game" and what I got was a comfy, memorable story with nice combat mechanics. I love, LOVE the story between the witch and the Heroine working together. The puzzles are also top notch, not too hard but too easy. The humor actually got a chuckle out of me and I love the scenarios the game puts you in, like kicking out the skeletons from the arcade.I love it. Seriously, what inspired you to write such a thoughtful and memorable story/game?

TLDR: Unexpected (but in a good way) is the word I'd use for this game. Hope you'll make a sequel to this game some day.

Late reply, but thank you for playing.

Trying to think back to my mindset when I made it is difficult since this was a while ago, but my one goal with it was to make something closer to a traditional JRPG than the game I'd done for the previous /vrpg/ jam. Considering how much NON-traditional stuff/VIPRPG I play and draw inspiration from, that can be challenging.

As for being thoughtful and memorable, that is incredibly kind, and I'm happy you think so. Maura is a fun character to write, and I draw a lot from my own youth when I think about what she's going to say, how she should act, and so forth. Her dragging along the Chosen One from seemingly irrelevant place to place is, well... exactly what I'd have done, maybe.

The sequel to this game definitely exists, and if you haven't played it, I definitely recommend playing the other /vrpg/ jam titles beforehand since I paid a lot of respect to other jammers' games in there. I'm always thinking of what to do with these characters next, so maybe a 3rd Shoukan Gaki could happen someday.

Super Duper late reply (sorry about that) but:

Holy moly you actually replied AND THERE'S SEQUEL?! Well I'll be darned, I will definitely try some of the other /v/rpg jams and your sequel. I'd tip my hat to you because creating something you have lil experience with is not an easy task. Congrats! So the inspiration for Maura the witch and half of the story was drawn from your old self? That sounds like something a great writer would do.

Anyway, I do hope you do make Shouki Gaki 3 someday because your number 1 fan will be anxiously waiting for a continuation after playing 2. Oh and if I didn't say this before, I'll say it now. Thank you for this game, you are a great inspiration for me and many others in the vrpg game jams. Hopefully one day you'll be a rich and famous game dev who will look fondly at this....and that I'll finally get off my lazy butt and create the game of my dreams

An excellent story about people growing up. Very good sense of humor, fun gameplay system that keeps you interested in seeing what's next, and a couple nice emotional hits. The scenes between the two main characters are really fun, great use of dramatic irony. Great work, I enjoyed it a lot!

Thank you kindly!
